A Word of Welcome

Dear friends,

          Allow me to welcome you to the web site of Saint John the Baptist Church of Scottdale, a Parish of the Diocese of Greensburg in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  Our parish, as you will see from our history, has been serving the Faith needs of the area since September of 1878.  Our Faith Community consists of just over 1,000 families on record who gather at three Liturgies each weekend.  We continue to face the struggle of aging population, an uninvolved majority of members, an area hit by challenged economic conditions.  But we are proud of who we are, what we have accomplished, and where we are headed.

          May this avenue of communication help you to know and understand this family, and may you be assured of a welcome in Scottdale whenever you visit this beautiful and historic part of Southwestern Pennsylvania.
